Enjoy Your Season and Serve the Lord
“Singleness is a journey of self-discovery, unbound by others' expectations.”

It is easy for those in relationships to tell singles to enjoy their season of singleness. Yet those of us who are married may forget what it was like to be single—or sometimes even fantasize about being single again. Regardless of our relationship status, Christians are called to live according to biblical principles.
Last week, we focused on marriage and the relationship between Adam and Eve. God saw that Adam should not be alone and provided him with a suitable helper. They were given the responsibility to “be fruitful and multiply.” Marriage, therefore, has an important place in God’s design for creation.
But what about those who come after Adam and Eve and remain unmarried? The Apostle Paul addressed both marriage and singleness in 1 Corinthians 7. He affirmed both as valid ways of life and emphasized faithfulness to God, marital commitments, and devotion to the Lord.
Today, more people are marrying later and remaining single longer. Many are pursuing education, careers, financial stability, and personal goals before entering marriage. This reality reminds the church that ministry must include singles as intentionally as it includes married couples.
If our goal is to meet the needs of every member, we must create opportunities for singles to grow, fellowship, serve, and enjoy the season in which God has placed them. We should not ask, “Do you want to be married?” or “Why aren’t you married?” Instead, we should ask, “How can we support you, encourage you, and help you serve the Lord?”
Whether married or single, we all have a responsibility to use our lives for God’s glory. Perhaps that is the expectation God has for all of us: enjoy the season you are in, embrace where God has placed you, and serve the Lord.
Amen.
